Pocket Edward...

OK, is it really wrong that I would like a pocket Edward to carry around with me, even though I wouldn't be overly creative with taking his pictures and using him for comedy's sake? I have a few good friends who get quite creative with theirs... taking him on all kinds of adventures and posting amazingly creative photos of him. I, on the other hand, just feel the need to keep him with me at all times, a sort of security knowing he's not far and a reminder of the miracle that is Edward Cullen.

Pretty goofy I know... what can I say? The manufacturers sure know how to get us. But I'm most willing to part with a few bucks so that I can have a little reminder of my personal sparkle man close by. Who's with me? Do I dare ask my sweet husband to buy him for me or is that going too far?

Eclipse... Thoughts on Bella Punching Jacob

I just re-read the part of Eclipse when Jacob forces Bella to kiss him (pages 330-342). I remember the first time I read this I felt queasy. I was so worried about Edward and wondered how Bella could allow it to happen that I didn't enjoy the humor as much I did the second time around. This time it had me laughing. As always Emmett found the humor in it immediately and had me wishing that I knew him in real life.

What surprises me about the sequence is Edward's charm and affection. He handled the entire situation so maturely and got me thinking... Edward and Jacob are so very opposite in many ways, except their extreme commitment and love for Bella. Jacob is immature and raw to the core. Edward in contrast is quite refined and exhibits the gentlemanly qualities ingrained in the time of his human up-bringing. I tend to favor the more mature, but understand the draw that Bella feels toward Jacob. He's wild, care-free, a risk-taker, and an open book as far as his emotions and thoughts are concerned. I'm sure I would have a blast spending an afternoon at the beach with him, but I would want to spend my forever with Edward... Poor Jacob. In my mind he doesn't even come close.

I'm Lost Without My Copy of New Moon...

I'm very happy to say that I've got my mom hooked on Twilight. I knew she'd enjoy reading the series, in fact I was a little hesitant to ask her if she was interested in reading Twilight since I knew I'd have to lend her my copy.

Fortunately she's a fast reader... and who is able to put the book down once you get into it anyway? It was only on loan for a couple days, but I did let her know my small disclaimer that if I needed it at anytime to check something or get a little fix that I had the right to ask for it back temporarily.

Anyway, she loved it (of course) and then asked for my copy of New Moon. I'm thrilled to have her finish the series for a few reasons (all of which are completely selfish)... First, I want my books back! (that sounds so bad but I feel a little lost without them at my fingertips if need be). Second, I can't wait to hear what she thinks about the whole saga. Spoiler Alert: She totally thinks Bella stays human forever since Edward is so opposed to changing her!!! I wish I could see her reaction when she gets through Breaking Dawn. And lastly: I'll have a pretty valid excuse to watch the movie (yet again!!!).
