I loved this song from the Twilight Soundtrack since the first time I heard it. However I couldn't understand all the words as he sang them (Rob Pattinson, you know)... so I looked up the lyrics. This song plays while Edward and Bella are at the restaurant in Port Angeles.Never Think
I should never think
What's in your heart
What's in our home
So I won't
You'll learn to hate me
But still call me baby
Oh Love
So call me by my name
And oh, save your soul
save your soul
Before you're too far gone
Before nothing can be done
I'll try to decide when
She'll lie in the end
I ain't got no fight in me
In this whole damn world
To tell you to hold off
You choose to hold on
It's the one thing that I've known
Once I put my coat on
I'm coming out of this all wrong
She's standing outside holding me
Saying oh please
I'm in love
I'm in love
Girl save your soul
Save your soul
Before you're too far gone
And before nothing can be done
'Cause without me
You got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Hold on

I feel like if you read Midnight Sun this makes so much more sense ... knowing how Edward is so terribly conflicted as to whether he should follow his heart or the "safety" of his love and in turn the rules. After reading Midnight I feel like Rob Pattinson definitely read it because he was able to pull that pull of emotion that Edward had fairly well! JMO!
Everytime I listen to this song and hear the words I picture Edward and Bella in the restaurant having their conversation, the song playing in the background (from the movie)... but I feel Edward's conflict as it's written in Midnight Sun. I can feel his love and the sacrifice he's willing to make to keep Bella safe, and yet leaving her becomes more and more difficult as each minute passes.
Rob totally nailed it with both the lyrics for the song and with his acting on screen. I do believe he brought Stephenie's Midnight Sun Edward to life. Amazing!
